Tie the knot

Hi! My dear friends. How was your holidays? Did you eat a lot of dumplings? I bet you did. As for me, there was one thing more important than having them.

Eight years after I got married, my little brother finally tied the knot. The wedding and the banquet were both hold the same moment last Saturday. The former was taking place in the church-- he was baptized few years ago while at school. The bride, my sister in-law to-be, is his close friend in the church. Well, of course, now she is already one of my loved ones after she has got married with my young brother.

I think they are a perfect match. A handsome prince found the beautiful princess and lived for forever. The pretty princess finally fell into the prince's arms. Their fairy tale finally comes true. Their marriage must be the envy of the people around them, I guess, by looking at those envious look on their faces. My little boy was given the duty to be the bridal page during the wedding, though in the first place he was reluctant to be that. I tried to talk him into that honorable job by promising him of some toys if he took it. My pocket is gonna be hit again.
Well, the newlyweds now must be somewhere in Switzerland spending a wonderful honeymoon. I just wish them a happy marriage.

Contract renewal

I called my landlord yesterday morning because it is high time to deal with him now about renewing the apartment contract. Last year the landlady, who is his wife, ever mentioned to me that they might sell this place this year because they needed some cash to help their daughter run her own cafe.

Given that they may be keen on taking back the apartment, I decided to give them a call to find out what they really wanted to do with it. If they did want to take it back, I would have to move out and find a new place to live. It's a good idea to clear things up beforehand or before it's too late.

The good news is, he allowed me to stay for another year, which is indeed a relief to me, or I have to block out some time to look for another place. If moving to a new place, I may have to fork over more dough in rent. On the other side, I don't have all the time in the world to handle all the enough trouble about relocation. Thank God, and I'd also like to appreciate Rebecca who said a prayer to God for me.

Get on with the good job!

I was thrown into ecstasy when students of mine informed me of their superior test results of the GEPT. Frankly speaking, it is not an easy job to do well on that test, especially for the high-intermediate level one. Though they are only half way to it-- they have to take the secondary test hold on July 16 for the certificate, I absolutely believe they will be no problem getting the best grade. I am always behind you all.

An inspiring statistics.

Thank God. If you ever take notice of the frontpage of this BLOG, you will see a counter embedded in the bottom which says "3000 hits" now. That means, this BLOG has been visited by 3000 times/ hits so far. I appreciate very much for those who come visit my BLOG. Hadn't been for your support, I wouldn't have put so much efforts like this to maintain it. Meanwhile, I also have to admit that I have been a lazy bone recently about updating the content here. Part of the reason for that is, I really don't have all the time in the world to write stuff here. Please take my apology.

The advantage of taking a walk.

Kindda fun, I guess. Maybe the title for this article could also be thought a very good practice in the future for those who want to take GEPT, a.k.a. General English Proficiency Test.

Today I just didn't feel like taking the bus to the next destination shortly after I finished up the class at the after-school center on Nanjing East road. Usually I take the 204 bus to Zhongxiao Duenhua MRT station, not for taking the MRT but entering the building nearby for my night classes. I decided to take a walk instead. I never did this before, but I estimated it might take about 30 minutes to get down there.

I walked westward along Nanjing E. Road and made a left to Guangfu north road at the corner. If I could finished this section off, then all I had to do was go right to Zhongxiao East road and staying on that road the school will be just around the corner.

I walked down in a steady pace. It just downpoured an hour ago, so I could still feel the humid air left and right. I dripped with sweat a little, so I decided to take off my cap to make me feel a little cool. It worked well, actually.

Suddenly I found it was a good idea to take a walk on a regular basis. It not only helps burn the calories in our bodies, but prevents us from putting on much weight. Moreover, I could even plan many things in my mind on doing this, which has the same effect as meditation. When I have a lot of things on my mind, I should try taking a walk. I should, from now on, take it into a habit. You should give it a try, too. No B.S., I am telling you.
